Create A Revolutionary Earth

iCARE was created in June of 2014 to fill a void among the African American community in the city of Reading.  iCARE is a new way of thinking, it is about remembering where one has come from and then going back to where one came from and pulling someone else up.  Education and awareness, healthcare and wellness, and economic growth and development illustrate the concepts of iCARE.

To date iCARE has done the following:

  • Award scholarships to Reading High grads since 2014

  • Fed neighborhood children the during summer of 2015

  • Partnered with Misecordia University and sent 10 Reading High School girls to their Leadership Conference in 2014

  • Anually honors key community figures

  • In 2015 we helped a handicapped city resident get a ramp installed at her home

  • Water drive for Flint, Michigan in 2016

  • Preschool coming Sept. 2016

Why Did I Join?

"I joined the NAACP because I believe it is an organization that can make a positive difference in the community for all who are disadvantaged"

"As a past NAACP high school scholarship winner I felt inclined to give back to the branch. It is a good feeling to be a part of the organization with my husband and our children."

"I often wonder what it felt like to stand in shadow of a giant. I will never know because I now walk with that giant"

My purpose is to lend support and advocate for change to correct injustices that do not allow a person to achieve his or her God given potential
